Hiker's Wildlife Survey

The Hiker's Wildlife Survey Project provided volunteers the opportunity to hike and explore Jackson Bottom Wetlands Preserve while collecting valuable wildlife information. Participants attended free orientations covering the specifics of the survey process, basic wildlife observation, and identification techniques. When they visit and hike the trails in the Preserve, their observations become part of our wildlife data. Sign-posts have been installed in the Preserve to help the surveyors orient themselves. The survey information obtained is used to improve the habitats of the Preserve.  If you are interested in learning more about the Hiker’s Wildlife Survey Project, please ask at the front desk.
