Jackson Bottom Wetlands Preserve and Rose City Astronomers are teaming up to present a night full of nature at the Wetland. Beginning at 7:00pm you and your family will have the opportunity to create a comet, go for an evening stroll through the Wetlands with one of our naturalists, investigate insects, and discover the amazing world of nocturnal animals. When the sun goes down, Rose City Astronomers will set up their telescopes and give us the opportunity to view the night sky (weather permitting)! Some portions of the site are wheelchair accessible.

Wish List – Help Us To Thrive
Like all non-profit organizations, Jackson Bottom Wetlands Preserve exists and thrives on the generosity of its friends. In our last newsletter we thanked many people and organizations for their generous donations of money, time, and stuff. And now we published a new “Wish List.”
Our new Little Adventurers, Early Childhood Nature Program for 4 and 5 year olds, could use some items to support the classroom activities:
- Building blocks, all shapes, sizes, colors, wood or plastic
- Lego’s and Lincoln logs
- Nature picture books
- Large role of butcher paper (for artistic projects and covering tables)
- Cookie cutters (nature or seasonal themes)
- Puzzles, nature related for little kids.
Additional items for our educational programs:
- Sets of nice paint brushes for art projects
- Any kind of art supplies
- Yarn leftovers – for use in art projects
- Owl pellets
Other items:
- Gas powered weed trimmers
- Six sheets of high quality 4' x 8' 3/4" plywood for construction of exhibits
