Each year at the auction, we make a special appeal to guests to fund a special project at the Preserve that is in especially critical need. Dollars raised will help develop and install a learning exhibit using an abandoned eagle nest that was rescued last fall from the top of a rotting tree. From our research, no other known museums or interpretive centers have an authentic bald eagle nest. This exhibit, like the bald eagle itself, will represent health, community, and a culture of people who care about the world in which we live.
Thanks to everyone who responded with donations totaling $6,300 to this important appeal!
Special thanks to Sue Graves at John L. Scott Real Estate, who DOUBLED the amount of this appeal with a direct one:one match – raising the total to $12,600!
Additional thanks to the Hillsboro Argus for donating ad space to further assist in raising the additional funds needed to complete this display…..stay tuned for more information and ways that YOU can participate in this unique endeavor. |
