Footer – In Season
Spring – The trails are typically open by the end of March. Deciduous trees are leafing out and many are in bloom. Tree Swallows are busy nesting in the many nest boxes we provide. Migrating shorebirds are passing through in May and we await the arrival of nesting song birds such as Black-headed Grosbeak in late April and Lazuli Bunting and Swainson’s Thrush in mid-May. We expect the Osprey chicks to become visible in the nest by June. Two species of garter snake are spreading out from their winter hibernacula and frog tadpoles are developing throughout the wetlands.
