Recreation

Home to a variety of plants and animals, Jackson Bottom Wetlands Preserve is an ideal location for passive recreation including hiking, bird-watching, and animal tracking. The south end of the Preserve boasts over four miles of trails, open from dawn to dusk, from which hikers, families, and nature enthusiasts are welcome to discover and enjoy the region's diverse wildlife. In 2003, Jackson Bottom Wetlands Preserve opened a 12,000 square-foot Education Center with offices, a nature store, a classroom for programs, and child-friendly exhibit hall. The exhibit hall features hands-on educational displays suiatble for all ages, and the classroom is available for rentals.
