A Demonstration of Water Saving Techniques When Designing Landscapes
Hillsboro Parks & Recreation Department is partnering with City of Hillsboro Water Department to create a ½ acre Water Wise Demonstration Garden in front of the Education Center at Jackson Bottom Wetlands Preserve.
The garden will feature over a 100 varieties of Pacific Northwest native and Mediterranean plants specifically chosen for their wildlife value, attractiveness, and ability to grow well in a water-saving garden. Plants will be watered via low-flow drip irrigation (or not at all), and will be labeled for visitor education.
In the future, the garden will be used in workshops and educational classes to demonstrate how citizens and businesses can use water saving techniques when designing landscapes.
